On Sunday, 4 August 2024, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemns the terrorist attack of the Al-Shabaab Movement on the Big View Hotel in the popular Lido Beach in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, which resulted in many deaths and injuries.

It is noteworthy that on Friday, 2 August 2024, the Al-Shabaab movement carried out a suicide attack in the restaurant of the Big View Hotel in the popular Lido Beach in the Abd Al-Aziz area of the Somali capital, Mogadishu, followed by an armed attack, where about 32 people were killed and 63 were injured, some of them seriously. The Somali police announced the death of the five perpetrators of this terrorist attack.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development expresses its solidarity with the Somali government in its efforts to combat terrorism and ensure peace, security, and stability.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights stresses that the task of eliminating terrorism in the Horn of Africa region in general, and in particular in Somalia, is not easy, on the other hand, the Somali people are still the first victims of such heinous terrorist acts.
