On Sunday, 21/7/2024, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemns the fierce Israeli attacks that targeted the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, warning of the dangers of such attacks on the security and stability of the region, especially at the level of the Red Sea.

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Israeli forces launched about 18 fighter jets, mostly F-35 and F-15 fighter jets, equivalent to more than 10 tons of explosives, on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, targeting about 20 fuel storage facilities, resulting in 6 deaths and 80 injuries. On the other hand, the Houthis targeted vital areas in Um al-Rashrash (Eilat) with some ballistic missiles. Also, they targeted the US ship “Pumbaa” in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles and drones, hitting it directly.

For its part, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development expresses concern about the Israeli attack on Yemeni territory, which increases the risk of expanding the conflict in the region following the developments of the Gaza Strip crisis.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities to end the Israeli war in Gaza as the main reason for the current high regional escalation
