The organizations “Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue” and the “Haqi Center for Rights and Freedoms”
organized a solidarity stand on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in front of the Broken Chair Monument at the United Nations Square in Geneva.
This was held on the occasion of Egypt’s review under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism, and in solidarity to call on the United Nations for humanitarian intervention to stop the wars in the region and provide protection for the Palestinian people.

The stand included participants from the Egyptian, Yemeni, Algerian, and Palestinian communities in Geneva, and banners were raised condemning the calls for the displacement of Palestinians.

The stand expressed full solidarity by representatives of the communities and non-governmental organizations with Egypt’s official position regarding the displacement claims, stressing that such calls aim to strip the Palestinian cause of its essence.
The NGO representatives rejected all claims regarding Egypt’s alleged willingness to receive displaced Palestinians, as circulated in recent days.

This solidarity action coincided with the participation of the Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue in the 48th session of Egypt’s Universal Periodic Review, during which a number of meetings were held with diplomatic missions and special rapporteurs, and a side event titled “Justice Procedures in Egypt from 2019 until now” was organized.
