Press Release

……………………………………………………….

Today, Thursday, 8 August 2024, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemned the Israeli occupation army’s targeting of workers in the World Central Kitchen organization, a non-governmental relief organization, where the Palestinian Nadi Al-Salut, a member of the World Kitchen organization, was killed near Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, 7 August 2024, the World Kitchen Organization announced the killing of one of its Palestinian employees, called the Nadi Al-Salut, near Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

This was not the first time that members of this relief organization were targeted, as 4 months ago, three Israeli air strikes targeted a convoy of humanitarian aid vehicles during its movement in Gaza on the first of last April, killing (7) of the organization’s employees, including Individuals from the United States, Australia, Britain, and Poland.

For its part, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development confirms that Israel crosses all red lines, as this crime reaffirms that the occupation still insists on its policy of systematic killing against defenseless civilians and international relief teams and humanitarian organizations. In return, the occupying state completely has escaped any punishment.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights stresses that aid workers are doing essential work and must be protected like civilians; however, many of them became victims of the conflict in Gaza, with at least 196 humanitarian workers killed in Gaza.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights calls on the International Community and the Security Council to condemn this crime and take action to put an end to the occupation’s crimes and aggression against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Moreover, Israel must also take immediate steps to protect relief workers and facilitate humanitarian operations in Gaza.
